Puzzling them Cupcakes
Step One Preparing batter
Start off by washing your hands and removing your jewellery
I like to use my hands so you can make sure the butter and sugar really mix properly.
You want to make sure your butter has been sitting out of your fridge for a bit, so it's nice and soft and easy to work with. Kids love this part...
Add in a large bowl 1 cup of sugar, your pinch of salt, your bag of vanilla sugar and 50 gr of butter.
Once this is mixed, add one egg mix, add the second egg mix.
Add 1/2 cup of milk and mix
Add 1 3/4 cup of Flour and 1 teaspoon of baking powder.
They always say to add last the baking powder so that you make sure the dessert will rise! I mix the baking powder in with the flour so it dissolves properly in the batter!
Mix till the batter becomes smooth!

Step Two Filling the paper cups and pouring batter
I use a pitcher to pour the batter in the paper cups as it is the least messy way for me to pour! (You can use a spoon ).
You can now place the tray in the oven and cook for 30 minutes. You will know that the cupcakes are ready because your entire home will smell soo good and they will look nice and golden!
Cupcakes cool down super quick so if you are in a hurry, after 10 minutes they are good to go!
Step Three Icing the cupcakes
Option 1
Depends on what you want, but I usually buy pre-made icing, I use food colouring to make the icing look funky! Or sometimes I use it in the batter too.
I Never use more than 3 drops , unless you want the colour to be super intense. But I have noticed depending on the food dye you use , it can alternate the flavour. So be warned...
To create the swirls on the left, I just put several drops of each colour and swirled it with a chopstick.
Option 2
Another icing I use is chocolate, that one is my favourite, you just need to heat it in water, in it's package, and wait till it melts. Once it's melted, I usually put it in a bowl and dip head first the cupcake and then add sprinkles! I like the vanilla cupcake with chocolate icing mix.
Option 3
Nutella, Peanut butter, any kind of spread...
Something a little Exxtra
For decoration of the icing
You can add
Marzipan ,
fruits like raspberries,
Sprinkles to decorate the icing!
Just remember that once the cupcake is iced , it then becomes very delicate, either refrigerate the butter based icings or it might melt in hot heat !
Where should I ICE?
I recommend icing at the place you decide to eat them, it leaves less room for accidental cupcakes sliding to the floor icing first when being transported on a tray!
The less the iced cupcake moves and the most beautiful it will be !
Did you know.....
That you can add all sorts of fillings to the final batter recipe above here are a couple ideas...
Melted chocolate,
Powdered chocolate,
Marshmallows,
Fruits like apple pieces,
Nuts like pecan/walnuts/almonds,
Grated lemon/orange zest!
It really depends on your imagination !
Have fun with it , and do your own tests at home to find your perfect cupcake flavour and style!
â€ïžEnjoy the cupcakes ! And have a lovely day!
